Bayway Family Success Center Testimonials

J.D. is one of our youngest program participants. She is the daughter of one of our PAC members, she always comes to Family Fun activities with her parents and she is also a volunteer at the center. J.D has taken part in many programs offered at the center, including, financial workshops, tutoring and book club. J.D is one of the members of our mentorship program, where she is able to gain new and valuable life skills that support her to stay and excel in school. She was one of our first Summer Program participants and attended for four years. This year, J.D is coming back as a Youth Counselor making her one of our first children to make that transition. We are so proud of her and are excited to be in this journey with her. J.D is now in high school and will start volunteering with us for her community service hours. We are happy to see J. D’s growth and be part of her journey thus far. We look forward to continuing to work with her, her parents and siblings

Success Story

D.C is a senior member of our community and lives by herself. D.C was very introverted and kept to herself. We noticed that she would come out only for our WOW program from time to time. We started to engage and invite her to our other programs like the Senior program, our Financial Literacy workshops and our Health Related workshops. D.C has engaged with the staff and she now feels more comfortable participating in our programs. D.C is also part of our gardening club and is helping us with the reading initiative that we have at the center. She also joined our PAC and is one of our main volunteers. We are so happy to see D.C. engaged in the community and now have a close network of friends. We look forward to continuing to work with D.C and continue to witness and take part in her growth.
