Recovery Management Check-Up (RMC)

RMC offers clients leaving substance use disorder treatment free check-ups for 9 months or more to support their independent living and success in recovery. Whether it’s virtual face-to-face visits, text messaging, or in-person, our expert peer recovery specialists support your client in finding the resources they need to thrive: health and wellness resources; sober living and housing; mutual aid meetings and recovery community; food security resources; workforce support; medication management; intensive case management; and mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

Workforce Support Program

This program helps individuals in recovery or actively engaging in substance use to become gainfully employed in the careers of their choosing. Participants are provided with a non-clinical case manager as well as a peer recovery specialist.

Union County STAR Case Management Program

This program provides non-clinical case management and peer recovery support. STAR assists with common obstacles related to recovery such as homelessness, incarceration, legal issues, employment, education, transportation, healthcare, documentation, and more. The STAR team has a wonderful relationship with facilities across the state with access to detox, rehab, intensive outpatient services, and medication-assisted treatment.

Prevention Connections Case Management

Our team provides non-clinical Intensive Recovery Case Management with a Case Manager to help individuals sustain long-term recovery by increasing their recovery capital. Case managers assist with common obstacles related to recovery such as homelessness, incarceration, legal issues, employment, education, transportation, healthcare, documentation, and more.

The Prevention Connections Program is a Union County Initiative that is offered to its residents who are seeking recovery assistance for their substance use disorder with alcohol and other drugs.

Transportation to Treatment

We provide free, safe, and confidential transportation to treatment for people in Union County with a substance use disorder. If you are a Union County resident and in need of transportation to treatment, whether that be detox, residential, IOP, PHP, recovery meetings, or sober housing, we are here to help.

Harm Reduction (LEAD & NACCHO)

Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) Program

LEAD enhances safety, health, and equity by building a community-based alternative to jail and prosecution for people whose unlawful behavior stems from unmet needs related to substance use, mental health challenges, or extreme poverty. Prevention Links, in partnership with Trinitas Hospital and the Elizabeth Police Department, are implementing the LEAD program in the City of Elizabeth.

Project Recover

Prevention Links in partnership with the City of Elizabeth provides support, resources, information and links to services including, but not limited to, education surrounding overdose prevention, substance use disorder treatment, and recovery services for participants and their families. Additionally, they coordinate and implement professional and community education events and activities focusing on harm reduction, stigma reduction, and services available to participants and their families including, but not limited to, emergency medical service providers, police, and other parties.

The New Jersey Coalition for Addiction Recovery Support (NJ-CARS) is dedicated to ensuring that every individual coping with substance use disorder has access to comprehensive support within their own community.
