About Prevention Links

Emily Newton, MBA, is the Chief Financial Officer of Prevention Links, where she has spent more than seven years advancing the organization’s mission, strategy, and growth. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an MBA in Strategic Leadership from Rutgers University and is completing additional accounting coursework toward CPA licensure.

Emily’s path to financial leadership was shaped by years of managing the intersection of funding, strategy, and impact. Before becoming CFO, she served as Chief Development Officer, leading grants, fundraising, marketing, and funding diversification. Her extensive experience managing government grants gave her a deep understanding of the connection between funding, compliance, financial stewardship, and impact. Combined with her business education and organizational leadership experience, Emily brings a strategic approach to finance focused on strengthening systems, responsibly stewarding resources, diversifying revenue, and positioning Prevention Links for sustainable growth.

A woman in long-term recovery and proud alumna of the Rutgers Recovery House, Emily’s personal connection to the mission remains central to her leadership. She serves on several boards spanning the recovery and grants fields, including the Association of Recovery in Higher Education and the New Jersey Chapter of the Grants Professionals Association, and has served on the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Youth Advisory Board.

Maritza I. Raimundi-Petroski leads agency-wide operations, program strategy, and organizational performance to advance the organization’s mission of building healthy, sustainable communities. With more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, public administration, and community health, she brings a systems-level approach that aligns program innovation, partnerships, and operational excellence to improve outcomes across Central New Jersey.

As COO, Maritza oversees a diverse portfolio of programs and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring program quality, regulatory compliance, fiscal stewardship, and continuous improvement. She works closely with executive leadership to implement strategic priorities and strengthen organizational effectiveness.

Prior to joining Prevention Links, Maritza held senior leadership roles at organizations including Children’s Home Society of New Jersey and PRAB, Inc., where she led cross-sector initiatives focused on maternal and child health and expanded community-based prevention services. She also contributes to higher education and organizational development as a former First-Year Seminar co-instructor at The College of New Jersey and co-owner of MAPA Collaborative, a consulting firm specializing in nonprofit strategy and leadership development.

Maritza holds a Master in Public Administration from Rutgers University and multiple certifications in nonprofit management, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and community health. She is an active civic leader, currently serving as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Trenton Health Team and as a board member of the New Jersey Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority and the Trenton Puerto Rican Community and Friends Organization.

Her leadership has been recognized with honors including the Dr. Antonia Pantoja Award, Community Champion recognition from the Burke Foundation, and the Changemaker Award from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice. She is deeply committed to advancing equity, strengthening community partnerships, and championing innovative, data-informed solutions that support families and communities.
