Safe Disposal Initiatives

These campaigns provide information about responsible medication disposal and list prescription drop box locations around Union County. There are 18 drop boxes throughout the 21 municipalities. Reach out to us if you need information about disposing of your medication safely.

TIPS

TIPS is a responsible beverage server training program for those who serve alcohol in restaurants. It teaches participants the skills and confidence they need in order to serve alcohol responsibly, including how not to overserve and how to prevent alcohol service to underage youth.

Current Drug Trends

An informative presentation about current and emerging drug trends in Union County and across the nation, Current Drug Trends covers a broad spectrum of topics from underage drinking, opioids, vaping, youth tobacco, and the effects that substance use has on the individual and community. The presentation is geared towards adults in the community; a similar presentation is also available for youth.

Mission
The Health and Wellness Coalition of Union County’s mission is to assess the needs of Union County in order to enhance collaboration and coordinate prevention efforts that foster a drug-free lifestyle and create healthy communities.
Vision
The Health and Wellness Coalition of Union County will create prevention-prepared communities through a collaborative effort to reduce underage drinking, cannabis use, the misuse of opioids and prescription drugs, heroin use, and new and emerging drugs across the lifespan throughout Union County.

    Harm Reduction Services

    Our Rise Up Commmunity Center team provides a variety of harm reduction services whether that be distributions of naloxone, wound care, safe sex and drug testing kits, naloxone training or presentations on various harm reduction, stigma reduction, and recovery support topics.
