Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At Prevention Links, diversity, equity, and inclusion are foundational to the work we do.

We have seen the negative impact that inequities and overall lack of inclusivity have on our communities. We acknowledge the ongoing injustice individuals can face in their everyday lives, and we commit to actively fostering change.

The rich diversity of our communities is reflected in our services, our staff, and our management. We create spaces where all people feel included and safe, no matter their age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, and more.

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is embodied in four core values:

  • Communication: a transparent and open flow of information both with our staff and with our community.
  • Safe Spaces: our locations welcome and include all people, with policies that ensure safety for all.
  • Education: our staff and volunteers receive the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective service providers in our communities; the education we provide to our communities empowers them to be the link to a brighter future.
  • Non-Retaliation: clear and safe processes for any member of the Prevention Links community to report harms, give feedback, or share experiences without fear that they will be treated differently as a result.

We care about your experience.

Our DEI policies are reviewed and revised on an ongoing basis. We want our employees to fulfill their potential, and we strive to integrate their views, beliefs, and values into the work they do in our communities.

We welcome participation from our staff and community, so we’ve created a platform to submit feedback, report harms, and share experiences for us to address.

If you would like to give feedback in person, by phone, or by email, you can also contact us at deipolicy@preventionlinks.org.

To submit feedback anonymously, you can fill out our Community Concerns Form by clicking here.

The DEI Committee reviews all concerns submitted on a monthly basis and addresses all concerns accordingly. Thank you for helping us continue to adapt, evolve, and grow as an organization!
