Parenting Programs
Available throughout Union County, these programs work with caregivers and children alike and can be facilitated at schools, community centers, our Family Success Centers, and many other school or community settings. Youth Tobacco Action Group
Youth tobacco use has grown exponentially in recent years with the rise in popularity of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), commonly known as “vapes.” Little is known about the long-term health effects of vaping on the body, but users are often unaware of the high levels of nicotine in these products, which can be much higher than regular smoked tobacco products like cigarettes.
Around the state, coalitions of concerned youth are educating their peers about the dangers and misinformation surrounding the use of vapes. Prevention Links provides support and resources to empower Union County youth in getting that message across to their peers through our Youth Tobacco Prevention Coalition. A facilitator works with a group of youth for this program.
Union County Prevention Warmline
The warmline provides a clear connection to prevention programs for youth and families, as well as help navigating local and state family support services being offered by the Union County Prevention Hub and beyond. Trained staff are available on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

UCHH 365 24/7 Peer Helpline and Transportation to Treatment
The Union County Helping Hands 365 Helpline (UCHH 365) is a clear connection point for individuals engaging in harmful substance use, and their loved ones, to access recovery and/or harm reduction support, and recovery support resources.
You can also use the helpline to arrange free transportation to treatment! If you are a Union County resident and need a ride to treatment, whether that be detox, residential, IOP, PHP, or sober housing, call the helpline and stay on the road to recovery.

The Center engages community members of all ages with educational, recreational, self-sufficiency opportunities and professional development. It has programs, services, and facilities that act as a catalyst for positive youth development and a stronger community.
In addition to our many excellent programs, we provide the following Center Services: Free Computer Lab Access, Free Copy/Fax Machine Use, Information and Referrals, Community Meetings, Family Support Services and Life Coaching, Resume Help, Employment Opportunities, Family Activities, Programs & Community Events.
Follow on FacebookGirls work on setting goals through exercises and discussions. Each season ends with a non-competitive 5K, where girls celebrate who they are, how far they have come and where they want to go. The girls will learn more about themselves, become independent and critical thinkers, develop skills to write their own stories, and find inner strength through physical activity.

Eligibility Criteria

The CLFC Program is designed to improve the family’s ability to provide a nurturing environment for each other in an effective and meaningful way. Families are encouraged to improve their personal growth by increasing self-awareness, expression of feelings, interpersonal communication, and self-disclosure.
The sessions teach social skills, refusal skills, and appropriate knowledge and healthy beliefs about alcohol and drugs, which provide a strong defense against environmental risk factors that can lead to negative outcomes for youth. The CLFC Program also provides caregivers and other caring adults with family management, family enhancement, and communications training. All participants are provided opportunities to practice these skills in a safe, peer-group setting and a family dinner is provided to give the caregivers and youth the opportunity to sit, eat, and talk together.

- Number of Sessions: 6, includes family dinner
The Strengthening Families Program is a fun 14-week evidence-based program that teaches effective communication techniques: insight on clear communication, effective discipline, resisting peer pressure and dealing with stress. Caregivers and children participate both separately and together, and family dinner is provided to give the caregivers and youth the chance to sit, eat, and talk together.

Non-clinical, supportive of many needs: water assistance applications, medical resources, housing resources, SNAP benefits, workforce support, resume building, or job search.
