Kenilworth, NJ – December 3, 2024 – This holiday season, Prevention Links, a trusted community-based organization with over 50 years of service, is gearing up for its annual toy drive. With the ambitious goal of distributing toys to over 700 children, the initiative spans all five Family Success Centers located across Union, Middlesex, and Hudson counties.

Following a successful Thanksgiving campaign, which provided more than 500 turkeys to families across all their locations, Prevention Links is focused on ensuring every child experiences the magic of the holidays.

“For families facing economic challenges, the holidays can be especially stressful,” said Emily Newton, Chief Development Officer at Prevention Links. “This toy drive is about more than just gifts – it’s about spreading joy, hope, and a sense of community to those who need it most.”

How to Get Involved

Prevention Links is calling on the community to help make this holiday season brighter for children by:

  1. Donating to the Toy Fund: Visit our Family Success Center donation page and check off “2024 Toy Drive” upon checkout.
  2. Shopping Our Wishlist: Browse and purchase items from our online wishlist, ensuring that every gift meets the specific needs of the families we serve.

Expanding Impact Across Three Counties

Each toy collected will be distributed to children through Prevention Links’ five Family Success Centers, which serve as vital resources for families in Union, Middlesex, and Hudson counties:

“We’ve had incredible support from local fire departments, police departments, banks, and foundations over the years, but meeting the needs of 700 children this year will require a collective effort,” said Emily Newton. “Every contribution matters, and together, we can make sure our families are supported this holiday season.”

Making Spirits Bright

This annual initiative is a testament to the strength of community partnerships and the profound impact of collective giving. Each toy represents not just a present but a symbol of hope and kindness during the holiday season.
